I'm excited to be part of this show that just opened!

Hello from the Phoenix Office of Arts & Culture!

The art exhibition “Gems from the Burton Barr Library Art Collection,” which highlights seventeen artworks from the Burton Barr Central Library, is now on view at The Gallery @ City Hall, located on the ground floor of Phoenix City Hall at 200 W. Washington St.

From the majestic southwest landscapes of Ed Mell, to the vivid and groundbreaking work of Fritz Scholder, the art collection at the Burton Barr Central Library is truly stunning. Shown in one space for the first time, these works are typically hung on walls throughout the library’s five floors. Together, these artistic gems accentuate the history, beauty, and grandeur of Phoenix’s rich cultural landscape.

Artists included in the exhibition are Shonto Begay, George Elbert Burr, Marc Chagall, Ronald Cruickshank, John Farnsworth, Dale Kennington, Merrill Mahaffey, Ed Mell, Joan Miró, Gayle Novak, Howard Post, Genevieve Reckling, Pat Scheurich, and Fritz Scholder.

Located on the ground floor of City Hall, The Gallery @ City Hall is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The artwork will be on display until May 25, 2018
